Childcare Teacher Assistant – Fox Valley Technical College (Appleton Campus)
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week Starting Pay: $20.00–$20.28/hr Worksite: Appleton Main Campus
Position Overview
The Teacher Assistant supports classroom teachers and works directly with children to provide a safe, engaging, developmentally appropriate learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Classroom support — Assist teachers with daily activities, materials, and classroom setup.
- Child supervision — Engage in play, guide group activities, and reinforce safety rules.
- Care routines — Help children with meals, naps, bathroom needs, and transitions.
- Child development support — Observe and report developmental or behavioral concerns.
- General duties — Light housekeeping, clerical tasks, and filling in for teachers when needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a 40‑hour Early Childhood course
- One year of related experience
- Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED, Infant/Child certification, and required DCF childcare certifications
- Basic Microsoft Word/Excel skills
- Must pass a fingerprint background check and meet Wisconsin childcare health requirements
Preferred: Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education

- In‑person classroom setting
- Hours based on children’s schedules
