Early Childhood Substitute Teachers (Full-Time)
Pay: From $20/hr • Hours: 40/week (Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM)
Location: Various early childhood programs in Outagamie & Winnebago Counties. Daily travel necessary.
Work Type: In-person, grant-funded through Dec. 2026.
We are seeking compassionate and flexible Early Childhood Substitute Teachers to support provide care and educational support to young children in various early childhood settings in Outagamie and Winnebago County. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood education and looking to make a positive impact on children's lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver developmentally appropriate activities as directed by classroom staff
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff
- Follow state licensing rules and agency policies
- Assist with meals, diapering, toileting, and basic care needs
- Communicate observations and concerns to regular teaching staff
- Adapt to different classrooms and age groups as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education (preferred)
- Child Care Foundation classes (required)
- Experience in licensed early childhood settings
- CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain
- Strong communication skills; reliable, patient, and empathetic
- Ability to adjust quickly to new environments
- Valid driver’s license (required)
Physical Requirements
- Lift/carry up to 40 lbs
- Frequent bending, kneeling, sitting on the floor
- Active engagement with children throughout the day
