Course Description 
Revised in 2024, this Child Care Foundational Training provides foundational knowledge and skills training for individuals as they begin, or consider, a career in caring for children in the infant and toddler age groups. Content includes exploring infant and toddler care within a relationship-based approach with an emphasis on providing learning experiences within caregiving routines and play based experiences. A particular emphasis will be on partnering with families in support of infant and toddler development and on reflecting family practices within infant and toddler settings and practices. This course fulfills introductory noncredit course requirements as specified in the Department of Children and Families (DCF) Chapters 250 and 251 for Family and Group Child Care in Wisconsin’s Administrative Code.

Training Details and Requirements
• This 50-hour course (15 in virtual meetings and 35 web-based) is being offered in a blended format, which means there will be a mix of Zoom training meetings and web-based work. In addition to two Zoom meetings with your instructor, work will be assigned and completed on an online Learning Management System (LMS). 
• Participants must attend every virtual meeting date and complete all assigned web-based work with an 80% grade or higher by Thursday, Jyly 10, 2025 to successfully complete the course and earn Registry credit.
• Participants must have a computer, laptop, or tablet and reliable internet access to complete the web-based work and join the virtual meetings.
• Registered participants will receive a welcome email with more information about the course on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.  This welcome email will also help you gain access to the web-based work on the LMS. Be sure to check your spam/junk folders if you have not received any email communication by the end of that day.
