Early Childhood Child Care Teachers

Child care teachers at the Y interact affectionately & respectively with children. Our teachers enhance a child’s learning experiences through play, language and interactive activities. As a child care provider and teacher in YoungStar-rated child care center, you’ll use positive procedures when guiding behavior as well as being attentive, flexible and supportive of children and families.

Hourly wage range: $13/hr. to $21/hr., based on education and experience.

Numerous shifts available as our programming grows to meet demand. Full-time child care teachers & part-time child care teachers are needed. We will work with your schedule to find the right fit. Both entry-level assistants and lead teacher positions available.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age and have completed high school or its equivalency as determined by the DPI.

Entry-Level Assistant Positions: Willing to obtain early childhood coursework/credentials. Staff have the ability to complete early childhood workbooks for qualifications through the Y.  All applicants are encouraged to apply.

Lead Teacher Positions: Must have minimum of Introduction to the Child Care Profession and Skills and Strategies for the Childcare teacher or equivalent. Teachers working in an infant room must have Fundamentals of Infant and Toddler Care or its equivalent within 6 months of hire. Prefer associates degree in Early Childhood education, however not required. Experience of 1-2 years working with children.
