This class will prepare participants to be successful working with infants and toddlers in a Child Care setting. This will be done by thoroughly exploring the topics of: Professionalism; Growth and Development from birth to 2 years; Licensing Regulations; Environments and Routines; Planning Age Appropriate Curriculum; Health & Safety; Child Guidance; and Professional Communication.

  • Course start date: Tuesday, October 11, 2022 – Participants are REQUIRED to attend the virtual orientation meeting on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 12:30-1:30 pm. Students are offered office hours to connect with course instructor about assignments, get questions answered and receive assistance throughout the course.  
  • Course end Date: Tuesday, November 15, 2022

  • Training Format: Virtual via Zoom meeting session/Self Paced

Students will receive a link to access the course through the online ECExplorer training platform. Students will have the ability to access, view, download or print all course handouts, assignments etc. Students will be responsible for  ensuring they have internet access, and be able to attend the session dates as listed below. Virtual Zoom Training Sessions and office hours are required to review content, answer questions, and facilitate discussions to enhance understanding of competencies.

Learning Objectives

Successful completion of the class will require demonstration of the following competencies. Each competency has a number of specific objectives that need to be demonstrated. The competencies will be met through a combination of class activities, homework assignments, and projects.
