Make a Prop and Make it Pop for Finger Plays for Fall and Winter
Are your finger plays lacking the “WOW” factor? Join us for a make-it-take it morning, making props to bring finger plays to life. We will be using various materials to create them for the upcoming seasons.

Feeling Stuck in Your Lesson Plans? Overwhelmed With How to Reach All of the Children in Your Classroom Based on Their Own Needs? Not Sure How to Break Away From the Cookie Cutter Lesson Plans?
Join us in exploring emergent curriculum – a way to teach children right where they are, as we walk through the process of utilizing an emergent curriculum. From planning to preparing and implementing to reflecting upon how well it worked, we will cover the basis of each step to help equip you to begin incorporating this teaching method with your students! This topic also incorporates Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards, Licensing, and YoungStar guidelines for curriculum and lesson planning. An interactive mix of lecture, classroom scenarios, practical planning practice, and discussion will be provided to create a meaningful learning experience for you while we explore this fascinating topic!

Early Literacy Make and Take
A chance for early educators to bring the books they read to their class to life! During the class, we will touch on the benefits of having a literacy rich environment. We will review the 10 important reasons why you should read to the children in your care. Using the book as a base, we will create 5-7 activities that relate to the WMELS performance standards. Participants will also look at ways to use the materials for family engagement. Participants will receive one copy of the book.
