WECA Annual Tour of Centers

Join the Fox Valley Chapter of WECA for their annual Tour of Centers on April 15th from 6-9pm

Walk-in registration is available the night of the event from 6:00-7:00 pm at Apple Tree Connections, 5020 N Providence Ave, Appleton.

Cost is free for WECA chapter members, there is a nominal fee for non-members. Visiting all the featured programs will earn you two hours of continuing education credit.

New Resources Regarding Background Check Regulations

On Oct 1, 2018 the Child Care Development Block grant changed federal policy, requiring the Department of Children and Families to conduct FBI background checks on all regulated child care providers.

SFTA has created a resource packet full of valuable information that can answer many questions about the new regulations, as well as information about upcoming changes, and a Background Check FAQ. The resource packet can be found HERE.

WCCAA Training Opportunity

Join the Wisconsin Child Care Administration Association (WCCAA) for a special training for group center employees.       

Discussion will include topics such as how to incorporate environmental education into your classrooms, and ideas for active games and activities.

Time: 6:30-8:30pm   

Place: Our Shepherd Child Care, 3335 N Lynndale Dr., Appleton

Fee: $10.00 per person, free if director is a member of WCCAA.

Wisconsin Child Care Inclusion Survey

Wisconsin’s Early Childhood Inclusion Committee, along with UW-Madison’s School of Nursing, is asking for assistance from regulated child care providers, both directors and staff, in learning more about the needs of early educators that care for children with special health care needs (CSHCN), as well as to gauge interest in eSchoolCare, a mobile education resource that provides evidence-based information to support the care of CSHCN.   

You can help by completing the Wisconsin Child Care Inclusion Survey HERE by March 15, 2019, and will then be eligible to enter a random drawing for one of ten $100.00 gift cards.
